Oldenburg Vineyards is a wine farm in the Banghoek Valley, which, with its higher elevation, causes cooler temperatures than those of Stellenbosch. This lead to the factual yet playful concept of naming the brand “CL” with the added symbols “<” and “°” indicating that it is, in fact, cooler than Stellenbosch. Thus creating an advantageous environment for the production of quality wines. The back label design makes use of an equation to further explain the name and the intricacies of the composition of the Red and White Blends.
