The Art of Skincare.
The Artisan day spa is situated in a charming heritage cottage in the heart of Constantia. They approached us with the dream of creating a self-care oasis and needing a brand that matched their love for what they do and their dedication to making consumers experiences unforgettable.
The name, Artisan, is an acronym composed of the initials of the team members, or Artisans. It also inspired us to create the concept, and later the tagline, of The Art of Skincare.
The logo mark design stemmed from the shape of hands being held together, representing being in good hands but also a feeling of safety and care. The logo word design was inspired by the concept of impressions – seeking to engage with consumers emotions implying not only a physical but an emotional touch. It captures the lasting effect and impact that the Artisan experience will have on the clients, enduring far beyond the treatment encounter. From a design perspective, we asked the question “what would be left in the typography after the impression is made”?
The colour palette was inspired by warmth and the textures of the experience at the spa – from the wood, to the tiles, fabric textures, the products and the candles.
