Villiersdorp Winery Heritage Range. Established in 1922 to produce moskonfyt, the Villiersdorp Moskonfyt en Vrugtekoöperasie Beperk has undergone many transformations. As an extension of this fruit cooperative, Villiersdorp Winery is one of the oldest production cellars in the country.
This cool climate apple-farming area has long held the promise of producing excellent wine grapes. With the building of Theewaterskloof dam in the early eighties and access to irrigation, a shift occurred towards the production of wine grapes. The result is wines that express the unassuming yet effortless beauty of the valley.
The 1922 Heritage range is Villiersdorp Winery’s premium wine range, reflecting the rich history whilst displaying the current time articulated by design and process. The designs aimed to articulate this through the striking use of a black, white and gold colour palette and finishing techniques that placed emphasis on the logo without allowing it to over-shadow the rest of the label elements.
The names of the wines within this range were carefully selected to not only tell a unique story about the people associated with the brand, but also to reflect it’s principles and historic significance.
